Missionary
conference in Vladivostok. After the conference a group of 2 families
went to Ussuriysk city to evangelize and start the new church.
Our
city:
Ussuriysk
is situated 120 kilometers far from Vladivostok. It is the second city
by its importance and size in Primorsky region. Population is about
160 thousand people. The majority of population is young people
(mostly because of youth migration from villages). The advantages of
the city are its location and the level of life, which is cheaper as
compared to Vladivostok. Ussuriysk is a beautiful city with
developing infrastructure and many educational institutions that vary
from those giving almost free education to the elite very expensive
ones. This makes the city so attractive for young people and, when
they need to decide where to go after school, they come for their
further study and living to this place.
· Upon
their arrival to Ussuriysk, the missionary group started to rent an
apartment for Sunday services. They have build
good relations with other city
churches through making new contacts, organizing
the “Jesus” film show and thus opening new doors for evangelism.
 The
first water baptism:
Alexander, being a drug
addict, once heard a believing lady’s testimony…. Lord has healed him
from tuberculosis, made him free from drugs addiction and has accepted
him in His kingdom.
 The
first wedding:
Roman and Lena. As many
other couples, they had good relations in the beginning, lived
together out of wedlock and seemed to be satisfied. However, the time
passed and they felt emptiness and pain inside. Now they are the real
family. They love Lord and each other; they enjoy life and work for
God.
The second water baptism
was carried out not far from the city, on the Suyfun river. The
river’s name means “ river of death “ in Chinese. The river got its
name first of all because its current is quite dangerous, and because
it used to be a place of cult sacrifices in the past. It's proclaiming
of life, victory over death and spreading the Gospel in the villages
on the river's banks.
THE CHURCH TODAY
“The House of Life”
church is a part of the Association of churches that functions under
the same name.
Since Ussuriysk is a
place attracting a lot of trading Chinese and Gypsies, there are big
opportunities for Christians to reach these people with the Gospel.
Here is one of the field of our service. Talks to Chinese have already
given some positives results and 2 Gypsies have been baptized.
We work with the young
people in educational institutions. The pastor gives lectures on the
following topics:

problem and getting free from narcotics

AIDS and sexual
revolution

Occultism
-
The true face of
rock-music
-
Maternity and abortions
-
Other
We live a joyful, worthy
life laboring, evangelizing, dreaming, relaxing, participating in
educational conferences
The
prayer life church. We consider prayer to be relationships with our
Lord, petition and battle. There is a hill in the center of the city
where we climb to pray together. Morning, evening and night prayers
once a week are raised high to the Lord. We also carry out the prayer
meeting of the city churches. We have been living like this for the last 2
years. Our Lord does not only gives promises, He also answers to the
prayers.
